Date: Saturday 21 October 2023
Time: 11:00am-3.00pm
Venue: Thetford Library, Raymond Street, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 2EA

Do you have any Second World War related stories and objects passed down to you from your parents, grandparents and other family members? Would you like to share and preserve these objects and stories for future generations?

Bring your diaries, letters, photographs, memoirs, objects or stories about your family’s experience in the war to Thetford Library to be recorded and added to our freely-available, online archive.

Volunteers will be on hand from 11am to 3pm to welcome you and help record your story and photograph your objects.

Other activities at the event will include talks, silk painting, WW2 object handling, 1940s paper doll making, borrow a WW2 book, and look at and borrow a WW2 reminiscence kit.

The event is being hosted by the American Library and Norfolk Museums Service at Thetford Library, with volunteers from the Kick the Dust youth project.

Please do not bring any weapons or dangerous items (including gas masks) to the event.
